Why I teach: I teach because I always admired my teachers growing up. They possessed a love for learning, and I am so excited to share this with my students. I believe that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. With dedication, perseverance, and hard work, students will strive to reach their full potential.

Personality of my classroom: My classroom is a collaborative learning environment where every student is welcomed for their God given abilities.

Memorable teaching experience: A memorable teaching experience I had was completing part of my student teaching in a special education setting.  The second part of my student teaching was full of unique experiences, like teaching online during a pandemic, but was one I will never forget.

Why I chose Immanuel: I am so excited to be teaching in a Lutheran school that values sharing the love of Jesus with each and every student. As someone who grew up in Lutheran schools, I am so excited to be carrying on the legacy Lutheran schools have with my students.

Experience: I just started my teaching career in 2020 but have multiple years working with children in a variety of settings.

Education: I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with degrees in special education and elementary education and a minor in theology.

Outside of class: I enjoy spending time reading, going for walks, and traveling on mission trips.

Why I teach: I teach for the students, for the opportunity to positively impact their lives by inspiring joy, unlocking potential, fostering growth, cultivating curiosity, and celebrating learning - together as children of God.

The personality of my classroom: All are welcome in my classroom, a positive, safe, and joy-filled environment for learning and growing together in Christ.

Memorable teaching experience: During remote teaching, in the little Zoom window, students learned right where they were - the kitchen table, the bedroom, the family room, grandma's house, and even dad's office. In the Zoom square, instead of always seeing the student, mom popped in asking for help, grandma peeked in and requested I speak louder, dogs' noses filled the screen, and siblings and former students said "hello." These collectible moments, the mosaic of Zoom squares, are the faces and memories after Friday, March 13, 2020, when teachers and students left classrooms and the pandemic pushed us into the unknown world of remote learning. Alone, together.

Why I chose Immanuel: When I walk in Faith and hold on to God's promises, HIS plans are always better than mine.

Experience: Facilitating effective learning for students of all ages is the core of my professional experience, starting with corporate training and continuing through classroom teaching.

Most recently, as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) and Visual Arts Teacher, I facilitated a problem-based, project-based learning environment to deepen student learning and improve creative and critical thinking skills.

Outside of class: Outside of class, I enjoy God's creation in the great outdoors with friends and family - hiking the trails, boating on lakes, skiing the terrain, and simply seeing the awe of the sunrise, the promise of the rainbow, and the sun melting into the horizon.
