Baptism at Immanuel

At Immanuel, we believe and teach that Baptism is a sacrament. Luther teaches that it is water included in God’s command and combined with God’s word.

We also teach infant Baptism and that Baptism works forgiveness of sins, rescues from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises of God declare.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider baptism as a next step for you and your family.

Some verses to read about Baptism:

  • Matthew 28:19
  • Ephesians 4:4-6
  • 1 Peter 3:21
  • Acts 16:31-33

Baptisms can be scheduled during a worship service. Typically Baptisms are scheduled at the Saturday 6 pm service or the Sunday 11 am service. Sometimes families prefer to schedule a private baptism. To schedule a baptism, contact Julie at  or call 815-459-1441.
