First Visit

Welcome to Immanuel

As one church in two locations, we serve people from all over Crystal Lake and the surrounding McHenry County Area. Our worship services are upbeat with great contemporary Christian music, and messages that show we believe in a God that meets us right where we are.

Whether you worship at S. Pathway Ct on Sundays (8am, 9:30am, & 11am) or McHenry Ave Site on Saturdays (6pm), you will find friendly and positive people excited to introduce you to our church family. You can count on seeing smiling greeters and people who will point you where you need to go. Don't worry about what to wear. While some people dress up, others choose to dress informal or casual. Come the way you feel comfortable.

Feel free to ask anyone wearing a nametag for more information, and stay after the service to get know the pastor and other members while enjoying refreshments.

Parking

We have ample parking at both sites, with designated areas for guests and handicap parking. If you need to drop off a passenger, we have a circular loop near our front doors. At the McHenry Ave. site, you are welcome to park in the Faith Lutheran School Parking Lot.

Children and Students

Children's Ministry (pre-k through fifth grade) is all about loving kids and leading them to Jesus through Bible studies, activities and new friendships.

We offer Sunday School at S. Pathway Ct at 9:30 a.m.  Please go to the right once through the lobby and check in at the Sunday School registration desk.  People will be waiting to point you in the right direction to our classrooms and register your children into Sunday School.

Verge (Our Special 6th grade program) will meet in the science lab.

Student Ministry (7th through 12th grade) meets for Sunday morning Bible study in the Youth and Multi-Purpose rooms near the gym.

6-12th Graders also meet Sunday Nights for Follow from 6:30-8:30pm. Please enter through the youth room located near the rear of the building.

Songs We Sing

At the Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am service, you can sing familiar traditional hymns and look forward to choir and bells.

Our contemporary services include electric guitars, drums, violin, mandolin, electric keyboard and more. Our songs are upbeat, biblically based and serve to express our love and gratitude to the Lord. Lyrics are projected on worship screens so they are easy to follow. Some of the songs you may know. Others, we hope, will be uplifting and a serve to praise and give glory to God. Foot tapping and clapping is often a result of the joy expressed in our music!

Worship Area Nursery

Children are a vital part of Immanuel's ministry. We have a nursery staffed with caring individuals for children three years of age and younger. Our friendly ushers can assist you in finding the proper room.  Children's Bible Bags are a great way to involve children and you are encouraged to bring them into the worship service with your familiy. They are available from an usher or feel free to pick up one of the bags with a cross on it located near the nursery!

The Lord's Supper

Immanuel celebrates the Lord's Supper at all four of the weekend services with the belief that the Communion meal is a gift of Christ to his church. You'll find a guide to The Lord's Supper in our worship bulletins, which are handed out each Sunday by our ushers.

Please reach out to Sharon Tieman at for help answering any questions and help you get plugged in!
