Historic Church Closing Services & Events

The sale of the Historic Church, and our congregation’s exodus, will be complete on January 16, 2020. The new owner plans to keep the façade of the building while converting the interior to apartments. It is our understanding that he has the same intent for the historic Immanuel School. Those who have seen the renovation plans have been very impressed with the design and the new owner’s commitment to preserving the façade of the historic buildings.

The service will be approximately 30 minutes and will include a “decommissioning” of such items as the altar, pulpit, lectern, baptismal font, processional cross, etc.  We will sing 1 or 2 songs and celebrate the Lord’s Supper with a very brief history of the church building read for all.  The final song will be sung outside the building (weather permitting).  Please bring your own folding/lawn chair if standing for 30 minutes will be a challenge. The church changes ownership on January 16, 2020.
